Grup Șerban Holding accelerates its growth: investments of 100 million euros, of which 60% are non-reimbursable European funds.

Grupul Șerban Holding (BVB symbol: GSH), the largest Romanian-owned agricultural company in the agribusiness sector listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, is set for massive investment expansion. Currently, additional investments worth 400 million lei (80 million euros) are awaiting approval, of which 60% are non-reimbursable European funds. The main source of funding for these new projects is the capital market.

The main objective of Grupul Șerban Holding, in light of these investments, is to complete as many stages of agricultural production processing as possible, for both primary and secondary products, with the shortest possible supply chain. This aligns with the principles of a circular economy and aims to retain a higher percentage of the value chain margin within the group. The group does not intend to sell the production immediately after harvest but plans to process, store, and further capitalize on it through higher value-added products, thereby enhancing competitiveness.

In 2023, Șerban Holding Group announced investments for 2024-2025 totaling 100 million lei (20 million euros), 60% of which are non-refundable European funds for several projects. These projects include extending irrigation lines by an additional 300 hectares, constructing new cold storage facilities with an additional capacity of 15,000 tons, a unit for storing and packaging vegetables equipped with a robotic hall and optical sorting, as well as a farm for free-range laying hens with an annual production of 50 million eggs.

The projects awaiting approval, worth 400 million lei (80 million euros), include the expansion of cold storage capacity for vegetables by an additional 35,000 tons, a fully automated hall for the beef cattle fattening facility, an energy production project using photovoltaic panels, and a potato processing plant with a capacity of 45,000 tons per year for French fries production and 15,000 tons per year for potato flakes production.
