    Grup Șerban Holding S.A. (BVB: GSH) announces the successful completion of works for the new modern cage-free laying hen farm, located in Scurta village, Orbeni commune, Bacău County.

    This strategic investment marks a new stage in the development of the Group’s livestock division and reinforces our commitment to building a complete, sustainable, and competitive agri-food chain — from grain cultivation to the marketing of finished products.

    An investment in the future of Romanian food production

    The new farm is located on a total area of 54,794 square meters and was designed in accordance with the highest European standards of animal welfare, biosecurity, and energy efficiency.

    The Project includ:

    /the construction of 8 halls for adult laying hens, with a total capacity of 160,000 birds, and 2 rearing halls for replacement pullets, with 40,000 birds;

    /equipping the facilities with state-of-the-art technological systems that optimize bird comfort and production performance;

    /the complete development of the supporting infrastructure — access roads, utility networks, and green spaces.

    The total value of the project is €11.5 million, of which €7.5 million represents non-reimbursable funds granted by the Government of Romania through programs dedicated to the development of the poultry sector.

    Objectives and Benefits

    The investment is based on a clear vision:

    /the development of a modern commercial farm aligned with European requirements on animal welfare and environmental protection;

    /energy efficiency improvement and reduction of environmental impact;

    /diversifying GSH’s portfolio through the launch of a new Romanian brand – Moldavia, dedicated to fresh and premium-quality products;

    /increasing the added value within the Group’s integrated agri-food chain.

    With the commissioning of the new facility, Grup Șerban Holding estimates a yearly production of approximately 50 million eggsequivalent to 2.750 tons, thus contributing to strengthening national food security and supporting the development of the local economy.

    The farms will be populated starting in November 2025, and the first eggs — code 2, from cage-free hens — will be available on the market beginning in 2026.
