Serban Holding Group, one of the leaders in Romania's agri-food industry, has successfully completed the signing of its first syndicated financing in its history. The financing, with a total value of EUR 73 million, was coordinated by BRD Groupe Société Générale and Banca Transilvania, which also served as Documentation Agents. The syndicate also includes Raiffeisen Bank Romania, acting as Sustainability Agent and Initial Creditor. During the financing period, Banca Transilvania will act as Facility Agent and Guarantee Agent.
In the financing transaction, Șerban Holding Group was assisted by the law firm RTPR, while the syndicate banks' legal advisor was the law firm Kinstellar. The credit facility is intended for refinancing existing bank debt and supporting the development of the group’s companies. The transaction aims to strengthen the partnership between the three financing banks and Șerban Holding Group, ensuring the realignment of existing financing under a structure suitable for a rapidly growing group of companies.
„The signing of this EUR 73 million syndication represents a very important step for Șerban Holding Group in strengthening its current operations in a sustainable manner and advancing the company’s development, as previously announced, through projects totaling over EUR 85 million. We hope this success will send a positive signal to the market regarding Șerban Holding Group’s commitment to growth. This achievement was made possible thanks to the trust placed in our company by the three syndicate banks, with whom Șerban Holding Group has a significant history of collaboration."stated Nicolae Lucian Șerban, CEO of Șerban Holding Group.
„We are pleased to announce BT's participation as a Joint Lead Arranger in one of the largest syndicated financing transactions in Romanian agriculture in recent years. We reaffirm our commitment to supporting the Șerban group of companies, a longstanding partner of Banca Transilvania, as well as the development of sustainable agriculture in Romania," stated Cosmin Călin, Executive Director of Large Corporate Clients at Banca Transilvania.
„"Agriculture is a strategic sector for the Romanian economy, and through this financing, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting companies that promote innovation and performance in the field. Șerban Holding Group is a model of excellence in agriculture, and our partnership contributes to the development of a sustainable and competitive agribusiness," stated Felix Daniliuc, Executive Director of the SME Department at BRD Groupe Société Générale. "We are particularly pleased to have completed this transaction alongside the other partner banks to continue supporting the development plans of Șerban Holding Group, a group with over 30 years of experience in agribusiness. Our participation in this syndicate reaffirms the support that Raiffeisen Bank provides to the agri-food industry, a sector with extraordinary potential in Romania, and highlights the ability of Romanian entrepreneurs to collaborate with banking institutions for their growth," stated Sorin Suciu, Executive Director of Regional Corporations and Public Sector at Raiffeisen Bank Romania.
